We did the Kenai Fjords National Park Tour with train from Anchorage. Transportation went smoothly. $20 to park for a day at Anchorage Train Depot. Breakfast on dining car on train was high quality and great price ($12 for Eggs, Sausage and Potatoes) Beverages well made and priced reasonably. Actual cruise was stunning! We saw 8 hunchback whales and a pod of orcas! Salmon and prime rib dinner were prepared well; delicious and not over baked. Drinks on cruise very well priced; margaritas made from actual glacier ice were for sale for $4! Very pleased with cruise; they aren't giving it away but it was worth the money paid! I cannot recommend Major Marine Tours more highly, true professionals from start to finish, their arrangements were faultless at every stage of the train and boat tour. I ran out of 'Wows' by the time I got back, thanks guys. Great food! Fun staff. Reasonable drink prices. Well worth the money. Although, I would only go on one cruise per vacation, they are repetitive. I went on the 5.25 Prince William Sound Surprise glacier cruise and absolutely loved it!! I would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting to see calving glaciers, Alaskan nesting seabirds, sea lions, sea otters, and eagles. We spent about 30 min at a 1/4 of a mile away from Surprise glacier and watched it calve multiple times (what a neat experience!) The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the salmon and prime rib buffet was EXCELLENT! Along with the salmon and prime rib, the buffet also came with rice pilaf, a tossed green salad, sourdough bread and a dessert bar consisting of cheesecake and brownies. The park ranger on board was very informative and approachable if anyone had questions as well. The cruise wasn't too long either, it was the right amount of time to be out on the water. Also, no seasickness because Whittier is in protected waters. Overall, great experience and I recommend it to everyone! Fantastic quality! The service is good, and the meal tastes great. Highly recommend.
