I have been to different dermatologists in the past and rushed through because schedules didn't permit the doctor to stay and do a thorough exam. Dr. Cusack took his time and I felt he was very thorough. Friendly and down to earth mannerism. He managed to take care of the issue I had without complications. I would go back. Straight to the point! Most people on here are complaining because he didint say "Hello". I have severe eczema and cystic acne, Im not coming for a hug or to make small talk. This man is over 70 years old, of course he is hard of hearing. Never the less I have had a great experience, I understand the wait times due to the fact that it is ONLY him and a client may have multiple concerns causing appts to run over. They are under staffed and one person handles calls, medical assisting and billing by herself. Bottom line I got my prescriptions, my skin never looked better and I didn't die from waiting in the waiting room for my turn. After looking at the same skin concerns for the last 50 years of his life, I dont feel he "needs" to give me an hour "exam" I trust his judgement and will be back in a month for my follow up. Terrible doctor! I know you think only crazy people write reviews. But I am seriously trying to save you money. I had a five minute, terrible appointment with Dr. Cusack and it cost me $380! First I wanted him to look at my skin for cancer- his nurse said I'd have to schedule a "whole body scan" for later- oh great, another expensive appointment that I have to take off work for. He looked at my back for 30 seconds and said it was good. Then I asked him about acne. He sat behind me at a table to write and then angrily told the nurse that he couldn't hear me. He has hearing aids, why not stand in front of me? He sat behind me! He then told me--- without looking at my face or asking me to take my make-up off--- that I needed to take antibiotics everyday and use a topical cream. I tried to ask him about my scarring but he interrupted me and told me that I didn't have scarring. Again, he never looked at my face. I told him I had make up on. He said it "wasn't necessary" for me to take it off. His demeanor was unfriendly to the point of being rude. He did not even pretend to care about my concerns. I am so frustrated by how little help I received. This was a very expensive mistake. Skin conditions are very sensitive and can be embarrassing and hard to talk about. Do not go to this doctor. No one deserves to be treated this way--- especially when they are paying for a "medical service." I put that last part in parenthesis because he actually did nothing for me. I go there to refill a script for an acne med that I already know works, because this place takes my insurance and no one else seems to. It serves my purposes well enough. At my last appointment Dr. Cusack noticed two irregular moles that I hadn't noticed yet, and sent them out to a histopathologist, which I appreciated. But expect to wait an hour or more for an appointment, and expect Dr. Cusack to communicate with you almost entirely through an assistant, as he is very hard of hearing. The staff also seems to push facial beauty treatments for acne, which I am quite skeptical of. They just moved locations, so we'll see whether anything changes at the new place. Certainly could stand a lot of improvement. This was the WORST office visit I have ever had. I don't even want to rate 1 star. First and foremost starting with the unprofessional staff from talking to them over the phone to being there in person but I still gave them a chance ( I should have known better). I came in 10 min prior to my appointment, I stood at the front desk for a couple minutes without anyone acknowledging me, the front desk girl was on her cell phone and there were a couple ladies in the back just chatting. Finally the girl looks up and notices me and has me fill out paperwork. I was taken back to a room 30 min after my appointment was scheduled, I sat in there for another 10 min until the doctor finally came in. He came into my room without acknowledging me, he didn't introduce himself not even a simple hello. He and the nurse went into a corner and started writing stuff down, he came and glanced at my lashes for a couple seconds ,then he says that he is going to prescribe me cream for my face, he never even looked at my skin which was the main reason I went there for. I had a lot of dry patches on my face that happened out of no where and I wanted to know if it could be just dry skin or possible eczema, he didn't ask me about the products I'm currently using he didn't ask when the dryness occurred basically normal questions a doctor would ask someone. The visit with the doctor lasted a whole 5 min he left the room without saying nice to see you or thanks for coming he just leaves the room. I go to check out and the "prescribed cream" was actually some knock off probably Costco whole sale lotion that they repacked in their own jar with a tacky sticker on it that cost $25.00. They wasted my time and money for services I really didn't get. If you want a doctor to actually speak with you about the concerns you have I would not recommend this doctor. I wanted to add one last thing. I did call the office manager the next day to tell her of the bad experience I had because this visit was certainly not worth my $300 +, instead of offering to help rectify the situation, she basically called me a liar. I just want to say that I don't mind paying $300 + for a visit if I'm actually getting the care I came for. Clearly this doctor and his unprofessional staff is only worried about money and not the patients themselves.
