The lodge was beautiful and clean. The employees were great. The fishing guides were not so great. The kind of fishing we did was new to our entire group. The guides told us how to do it, and then fished for themselves, only helping once in a while...except for the young girls in our group who got a lot of help. The guides ate lunch in front of us but didn't offer us any food until two hours later. Since 2010, this was our fourth visit to Northwoods Lodge, and we are happy to report that the quality of our past experiences was repeated once again. Of course, fishing for sockeye salmon is our top priority! The gear provided and the efforts of our guides put us in position to succeed every day. Though fish numbers can vary from day to day, their knowledge, skills and abilities, and most importantly their low profile, friendly and constructive oversight made for very enjoyable times on the river. In addition, they cared for our catch in every detail, including processing and vacuum sealing (there is an extra charge for this) upon our return to the dock. While back at the lodge, the individual cabins are very comfortable and clean, meals are delicious. We also need to mention the coolers full of sandwiches, drinks and snacks while on the river were also a welcome treat. Overall, Eric and Shan and their family/staff continue to operate a quality fishing destination that we hope to return to many times in the future. The best experience I've had in 10 years. Fabulous trip, Terrific guides and hospitality was top notch. Highly Recommended. Fly-in fishing to a nice location and beautiful lodge. Great for the boys or good for a family. Guides are fantastic and good with people of all ages. Great experience. An absolutely amazing experience! The owners and fellow staff were fantastic and the food was wonderful!
