Wonderful breakfast! Carol is a great cook & wealth of knowledge. Nice place to stay that's located just north of downtown. Big Bear Bed & Breakfast is an experience not to be missed in Anchorage, AK. The accommodations are comfortable, with a bathroom for each bedroom (although the bathrooms are add-ons,built into a closet, at least upstairs. The ambiance in interesting, with artifacts of all aspects of Alaskan life, from native to Russian to frontier. A question about any will illicit an interesting story from your hostess, a former teacher. The breakfasts are carefully and elaborately prepared from an onsite garden. Carol explains each dish and you will not leave the table hungry. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable (three day) stay. This B & B is an Anchorage "Destination". The native pieces on display and the books available to the guests are outdone only by the exquisite breakfast you'll be served! We have stayed here many times and enjoyed it each and every time! Heading back tonight! Carol's waffle sauces are awesome
