This is the quality veterinary care I have been looking for! I have two dogs with complex medical conditions and it has been a challenge to find knowledgeable vets AND a highly functioning clinic environment for my dogs. This place has both and I will be bringing my dogs here without exception. I'm so glad I kept looking. After 2 years and 5 vets, I finally have confidence that they are receiving the best care. Took my 2 year old GSD there for the first time this spring. Spent about 45 minutes there and out of all that time the vet was only with us for 15 minutes. My dog was constantly puking and itching. Their solution to his problems was to feed raw. Went to a different vet and discovered the puking was due to giardia, and he had severe allergies. I expected way more from the vets there considering I’ve only ever heard good things about them. Good veterinarians who are kind and knowledgeable but can't give more than 2 stars because of the practice's philosophy of service. If all you need is a check-up for your pet then they are a good choice but they do not provide urgent care services (i.e. your pet gets hurt and needs immediate care.) I don't know of a dog or cat who doesn't at some point in their life need urgent care service so if you want a veterinarian who cares about your pet and will be there for those urgent times then this practice isn't the right choice. After 2 years of bringing my dog for regular check ups, my dog needed urgent attention and the receptionist (after speaking with the vet) at Ravenwood directed me to animal emergency clinics in Anchorage and Wasilla though they were open for another 3 hours. On the other hand, when I called VCA, here in Eagle River, they said to bring my dog right in that of course they would make time to see my dog. It was an emergency after all and every minute mattered. (We were concerned she had been poisoned and the vet induced vomiting.) These guys were great when we lost our phanny to cancer...thanks for all u did My friends use this facility. Had to stay longer with my dog. They took me in quickly for travel health check.
