We rented an RV kind of last minute and was assigned to a 2018 RV. It was ready as we came in from the airport and was very clean. We had someone with us that stairs were a challenge. When we saw the RV, we asked for something that could cut the first step down. They came up with a stool which was a big help. Everything worked just as expected. If we were to ever make a trip to Alaska again and needed and RV, we would definitely arrange to rent from A & M! They had a shuttle to take us to the airport or in our case a hotel once we turned in the RV. Thanks for a great first trip to Alaska! While on our dream vacation to Alaska, Hurricane Harvey demolished our town of Rockport, TX. After learning of extensive damage to our home, we had to return our motor home one week early. Under the circumstances we were hopeful that the company would disregard our contract and reimburse us for our unused days. They refused. I then asked in two different e-mails if they would issue a voucher that we could use to rent at a future date as we hope to return some day and finish our trip. Both e-mails were ignored. We have had hundreds of strangers come to our town with food, supplies and offers of help with clean up. Alaska and United Airlines did not charge us to change our flights. A& M Rental is the only negative experience we have had during this disaster. We had trouble with the engine dying when we were waiting in traffic or at stop lights. We called and were told that these motor homes are known for dying. This is a potentially dangerous situation! Our experience renting from A&M was absolutely positive. We did not have any of the problems mentioned in the negative reviews (well, except for not being reimbursed for cab fare). We're a family of five (three small children) and we rented a mid-size RV for a week in September. Making the reservations was no problem at all. After making the reservation, I had a number of questions via e-mail, and Katie always answered my e-mails within no more than a day. When we got to A&M RV (on a Sunday), the RV was still being serviced (but it only took about twenty minutes). Katie then gave us a very thorough walkthrough and explained everything to us (I can confirm that, for insurance reasons, you are not allowed to use the awning – furthermore, any damage to the roof is NOT covered by insurance). The RV was absolutely clean, well-equipped and in perfect working order. Generator, stove, fridge, microwave, shower, slide-out – everything worked perfectly. Just make sure to thoroughly inspect the RV (there were two small chips in the windshield, but otherwise, it was fine). We returned the RV on Labor Day without any problems. We received our security deposit within a week, and everything was fine. We actually forgot to return a small adapter for the power cable that we had taken off, and Katie e-mailed me and said that it wasn't a problem. I will absolutely rent from A&M RV again when I'm in Alaska! DO NOT RECOMMEND Took our r-pod trailer in to have it winterized and they left the drain plug completely off the holding tank, mixed up the black and clean hoses, and charged me $150 bucks for it...awesome job guys! Everytime I look at something on their lot or in the showroom, I feel like I'm either being hounded or like the sales man doesn't believe I could afford what I am looking at. They usually have a good selection of consignment or products to look at. It's really the sales team that ruins it for me.
