Sarah, the owner, is amazing. The shop floor is quite clean. They work hard at cleaning up. Sarah is soooo gentle. I have a young golden and Harper loves her. Her grooming is fantastic. The daycare is great. They come home exhausted and when we go back and turn from C Street towards her shop, my backseat goes CRAZY! They can't wait to get there. I'm not a friend, just met her and she grooms my dog. I read the below review and I'm not sure he was at Sarah's shop because that hasn't been my experience at all. Yes, there is a urine smell, but most large kennels have them and it's not overwhelming. Other than that, hmm. I would highly recommend this place. I didn't even get to the back where the large dogs were, I literally ran out after seeing the front. First of all, let me say that I have been getting my dog groomed usually once a month for the last few years and have been looking for a dog day care center in anchorage. I have had my dog groomed and cared for in multiple cities and have never ever had a problem or written anything but great reviews, even if the owner didn't quite know the style she was grooming or the place wasn't that clean as I completely respect and admire the individuals who have the love and patience to become this particular type of small business owner. And I had high hopes for this place as some people (I'm sure the owner or her friends) have given this place five stars. I know that people up here care more about their dogs then to take them to this disgusting place. The second you step out of your car door the air reeks of urine and what I could only guess is some kind of vomit..and you're not even in the building yet. Once inside you have to basically cover your mouth just to breathe, the floor is sticky and everything is utterly filthy. There is a tiny cage (the same size as the one I use for my small dog alone!) crammed with over four dogs who are crying. I was already regretting making my appointment when a filthy crude woman (I'm assuming the owner) approached me and practically yelled in my face for being "late." This startled me as when I scheduled my appointment over a week ago I was told I could drop off my dog anytime after 7 am and pick him up before 7 pm and he would be groomed and babysat. I informed her of this mistake in communication and she rudely accused me of lying as everyone in the office knew her groomer had to leave by 10. Without an apology she offered to make another appointment and I basically sprinted out the doorway. The woman was a foul and unkempt as her filthy store and in retrospect I am glad for the mix up as there is no way in hell I would ever leave my dog there. As for these temperment tests that I read about in the other reviews, I asked about them when calling and not only did the woman (who identified herself as the owner on the phone so she must have been the same woman) have no clue what I was talking about but when I asked if I needed to bring proof of vaccinations she said no, they didn't require that. I have never heard of a grooming/pet sitting establishment that doesn't require all of it's canines to be up to date in their shots. In addition I could hear what sounded like dog fighting (I was raised with and also have large dogs) in the background while the large woman in front felt to necessary to reprimand me, her customer, for five minutes about being late. My friends and family have all been looking for a great place to groom and watch our dogs but we will most definately be taking our pets elsewhere (anywhere for that matter) and I highly suggest anyone who even slightly cares for their dogs to do the same and leave this pathetic excuse for a dog care center run into the ground.
