I will never do business with Thrifty again. Got off our flight and went to rent a car. It was one of the only places still open so we decided to rent a car. The guy did not speak english well and was hard to decide what he was saying or talking about. We wanted to rent a car for 5 weeks but were told that it was only possible to do 28 days and then come back and do the rest. So he figured out the price and it was way too high. He talked to his manager and came back and we got the price down to something me and my friend thought was acceptable but still a little on the high end at about $1500. We verbally verified several times that the lease was for 28 days and he assured us it was several times. We signed the papers and took the car. 15 days later we happened to glance at the lease and saw that it ended that day. I called the company and they verified that it ended that day but they could extend it to a month for the total price of about $2700. I argued with the employee saying that the man who set up the rental told us several times that it was for 28 days and kept asking what they were going to do about it. They said they can only extend it out to 28 days for the $2700. So I returned the car and will never set foot in front of another Thrifty car rental desk again. Watch out for these guys. They tried to charge me for gas when I brought the car back full of gas. When I mentioned it they played it off like it was some mistake. They did reverse the charge but had I not said anything they would have scammed me. The customer service was amazing. I came in after a long flight and was greeted with a smile the process was quick and painless. It made my Alaskan experience much more enjoyable!! Excellent customer service, cheapest prices in town, and helpful staff. Would defintely recommend to a friend!
