This place is fantastic! Standard diner food, but really *tasty* standard diner food! They have a sit down counter for meal service, but good luck getting a seat at the counter because the place is always packed with old-timers that all know each other and are on a first name basis with all the waitresses! However don't read this comment as a complaint. I think it's part of Jackie's charm, in fact!!! Also, you can carry out food from Jackie's, which I love because I hang at the knitting shop next door and prefer to just take my food back over there. Best diner-style breakfast in Anchorage. Old school, great service, perfect bacon, so-so coffee. As it should be. Prices are reasonable and you won't be waiting in line with the tourist masses although weekends can be busy. Long time, down home, eating place for locals. Great breakfast menu with an Hawaiian slant: French Toast from Hawaiian sweet bread, Portuguese sausage, Loco Moco. Priced competitively. Friendly service. Decent coffee. Good place for standard breakfast fare. They do healthy substitutes and high protein. Consistently good. The brewed coffee is not so great though. It was alright, little hole in the wall type restaurant. Was happy to see they serve breakfast all day, the country omelet was sort of under flavored for my taste, and you don't get hash browns with it since it has potatoes inside, unless you ask for it. When we walked in we weren't greeted, it was seat yourself, so we sat at a table for about 5 minutes before grabbing a menu from the counter and then it took a while to get beverages. However after ordering, the food came out fairly quick. It was an ok experience but I probably won't be returning here
