Great museum! They did an amazing job going over the history of Alaskan airplanes and flight history. Fun place to go for all you av fans. Had a good time The Merrill Field Tower Cab is a great place for wine tasting or party and to view Lake Hood aviation operations. The hangars are full of history and historic aircraft. This museum is always changing exhibits and rebuilding aircraft to fly, not just to replicate. Not only are the aircraft historic one of the hangars is on the National Registry as the first hangar at Lake Hood the largest Seaplane base in world. Interesting. Best part for us was to sit in the tower and watch float planes land and take off. Amazing you get to see planes take off from the water; the gift shop is reasonably priced and you get to visit the old Merrill field control tower placed on site along with an Alaska Airlines 727.
