We were in Anchorage AK on vacation and all the shopping malls and downtown stores made us hungry!! We stopped here for lunch and we didn’t honestly expect it to be that GREAT. Our waitress was the only one working and he was doing a fantastic job on keeping up with everyone and our food didn’t take long at all! It was delicious! I️ was impressed. Pleasantly surprised! Based on the reviews, I didn't have high hopes. The person that greeted us was excellent. She caught the table was not cleaned and made sure to clean it before we were sat. Additionally she took our drink order and later our food order, when our server hadn't come by. The food was really good and made the experience complete. It's not without flaws, but overall a good breakfast experience. We stayed at the Guesthouse Inn & Suites across the road from Sizzlin Cafe. We had a great breakfast there in the morning and enjoyed the friendliness, cleanliness, good prices and good food so much that we decided to go back there for dinner. We were not disappointed as the pre-dinner drinks were excellent and the meals we selected were superb. The seafood chowder was to die for. The staff were excellent and the service exemplary. We enjoyed a good and long conversation with the host, Kenny, and were very impressed with his knowledge and dedication to making this venue a must go to destination for visitors to Anchorage. Well done Sizzlin Cafe! We salute you. As someone who takes advice from other reviews, I came early. Only one server, but he did a great job. I'm not a very needy customer but I felt if I were, my needs would have been met. Blueberry Pancakes were amazing! Reminded me of my grandmothers. Based on other reviews I was nervous about coming here but I'm glad I did. A nice cafe. Good option if your staying at the expensive Sheraton across the street. I had breakfast here while staying at the Sheraton. They have some good menu options. ..crab benedict, reindeer sausage, etc. A little slow on service but not that big of a deal.
