I sincerely regret typing this review. Paris Bakery has been a favorite of mine for the last several years. And, given the quality of the food, the value far surpassed many other places in town. However on 10/28/17 we arrived around 9:10 AM as a party of five. The dining room was about a quarter full. My sister recognized a coworker from her job and said hi. We were promptly seated. An appropriate amount of time later, about five minutes, the sever took our order. A short time later the server brought the fruit that accompanied the meal. My sister asked for no honey on her fruit but received honey on her fruit. Honestly no big deal. But then about 9:20 to 9:58, nothing. Several other parties were seated, served, and had received their food during this period of time. One of my party members asked about how much longer and the sever said a couple more minutes. About thirteen minutes later large platter of food went to a party that was previously at my sister's co-workers seat. They arrived about forty minutes after us. We decided to leave. When I informed the staff of our decision we were told by two different staff members that we shouldn't come on the weekend because they were too busy. They did not charge for the fruit they had delivered. I've been to Paris Bakery & Cafe twice now. Both times were just wonderful!! Coffee and breakfast with friends turned into quite a good time. A little fancy breakfast that automatically comes with a fruit bowl. For breakfast they have sweet crepes or a nice hearty breakfast dish. You can go there if you are in the mood for something light or a true heavy Alaskan dish. All of it so far has been scrumptious! Will be going again! :) A Diamond in the rough! There are a couple great places tucked away in Anchorange that offer fantastic dining experiences. Among them, Paris Bakery & Cafe is truly a gem! Ideal service, cheery and yet calm, comfortable feel that maintains a Suave, open, and classy atmosphere. It leaves an impression as gourmet and exuberant as the food and treats they offer! An Excellent place for first dates, post-hike snacks, and even offers a small selection of locally brewed beers to cool down on a hot summer day! Great soup! Relaxed atmosphere. If you are not in a hurry give this place a try. Best on weekdays. Moderate upscale dining in a casual environment. Great food very nice staff.
