Just an FYi... I called the store to see if she had a book I was looking for. After a long discussion, I found out that she has lost everyone dear to her heart including her son and husband. The owner of the building recently required her to move her store to another part of the building for another tenant. Although the space is much smaller that what she is used to having (yet, she still pays the same amount of rent). She has moved her stuff over but much of it is still boxed up. She does not want to move because she has been there for years. She said she continues to keep the store open because it gives her something to do and she is able to socialize with customers. This is a good reason why we should never judge a book by its cover. Even though I did not find my book, I was able to have nice talk with her and found out that there are a lot of people who have suffered and gone thru so much more than I have. My favorite sort of place to spent a sunny afternoon exploring. Floor to ceiling bookshelves stacked with treasures. Everything a used book store should be and the owner, Cathy, knows books like the back of her hand. It is a bit cluttered. I had a fantastic time at this bookstore. My Grandfather and I love poring over interesting, uncommon, and rare books. I was very pleased by the size of the Classics and Anthropology sections. The owner, Cathy, was knowledgable and very friendly. There is a nice assortment of books in Spanish as well. I will definitely return soon! Like finding a long lost treasure ship partially buried in sand...you never know what prize you will find when you dig a little deeper. This is the kind of bookstore that resists the anesthetic organization of the commercial book mill. The kind of place that you can find a depression era Brookings Institute volume on the economics of Japan (well, maybe not anymore) or a good used volume on industrial hydraulics for a Mother's Day gift. You can also find great deals on "long flight" paperbacks and popular hardback fiction. Lots of coffee table books, airplane memorabilia, and bookstore personality to be enjoyed here. The owner, a charming and very helpful lady (and nurse by trade), is equally adept at pointing you to specific book areas as jump starting your heart after it overreacts upon finding the perfect title. I invested over an hour here and walked away with two bags of books and a smile on my face. This is a book lover's gem.
