I've been going to Tangles for 2 years now. I feel more comfortable in this salon than any other salon I've been too. The stylist are very friendly and I am pleased with my hair every time. I do recommend! Everyone was friendly, went out of the way to please. I had Blythe as my stylist. She had alittle conversation with me, gave me what I asked for and helped me find a product that will work great for my crazy curls. I don't go to salons often, but I'm sure I'll be back to this one. I was reading the reviews that some people put on here, and I have to say I disagree. I have been going to Tangles for a really long time. And I enjoy all of their work. The staff there is wonderful, the place is ALWAYS clean, and the stylist know what they are doing. I have never had a complaint about them. They have always done what I asked with my hair, and they aren't pushy about you buying products. I just want to say, like everyone else, people have off days. And if you weren't happy about your service, just tell them, and they will find you a stylist who is better suited for you. The receptionists are wonderful, and I love each of the stylists. Amanda, and Nora do a fabulous job. I would recommend this place to anyone, without second guessing if I am sending them to a good place, because I know they will come out happy with the job that was done. Great job ladies, keep up the fabulous work! :) The salon is dirty and dingy and way overpriced. Very minimal bang for your buck, no scalp massage! Went to cover my highlights with a darker color, after Nora was done I could still see my highlights went the light hit my hair, and she missed a spot in the front- and she didn't even acknowledge it. I had to mention it..she then told me she could fix it for an EXTRA CHARGE! Yes she was going to charge me to fix her mistake. Then when I went to pay, she also charged me for "extra treatment" which was the extra die for my "long hair". My hair is not long, it is about 3" past my shoulders. I have gone to some pretty high end salons on the west coast and have got a way better outcome for the same amount of money I paid here. In sum, don't come here for color or for customer service. Nuria (said like "Norah") is the best hairstylist around! Tangles has reasonable cut and color prices, and Nuria is GREAT at color, especially red! After seeing how great she was, with my hair, my husband even requested to start going to her, and she does his, now, too! She really listens and tries to get it "right" yet still keeps the artistic talent. His hair is hard to do since it's curly but she does better than almost anyone else we've ever had cut it, and certainly better than elsewhere in Anchorage! The atmosphere is nice, and they don't pressure you to buy product although they will certainly give suggestions and tell you what product they are using. Sorry to see some of the poor reviews here, anyplace that does hair can get one wrong sometimes, but Tangles gets it right for us EVERY time.
