I go every Wednesday for the open jam from 9-midnight. GREAT local blues/rock band! I find the staff friendly & accommodating (they make me fresh coffee). It's got a divey feel, but I feel totally safe there. A good crowd of locals & tourists from all over the world. Great dance floor, lots of room so you dont feel crowded, darts, pool table and that mechanical bull everyone loves. Oh, and a huge restroom with lots of mirrors for the ladies : ) It's a great place to work and hang out and I miss working there Super fun! One of the best dance floors every weekend. Ride the bull and show off your skills for the bar. Amazing bartenders who know how to make you smile and make a delicious drink. The bouncer (a white male) wouldn't let us in "just because". We asked if they were full to capacity or if they were closing and he just ignored us and continued to say we couldn't come in. I'm sure it was because we were brown since he let every other white person in with no problem. We ended up having a great time at Avenue Bar! If you'd like to go out and have a good time, don't go to shitty gaslight- hit up the Avenue! Fun, loud, packed - the usual bar/club scene. Had a good demographic and the electric bull is a great centerpiece.
