Like all malls this is a wonderful place to take the family and enjoy ice skating to swimming. Or catch a movie at the diamond center theaters with great attractions and the latest movies. The best part is that the seats recline so your not looking up at the screen and getting that sore tight feeling in your neck. They have great store selections and a lot of food that range from ice cream to pizza to Asian cuisine and more. A very popular attraction for everyone. My favorite mall here in Anchorage. I don't get how some people can give this a low rating because they consider it "not as good" as the malls down in the Lower 48 or consider it "outdated". Far from it. I just moved back to Alaska after spending 15 years down in the Lower 48 and I can say that this mall has changed dramatically since my childhood in a good way. Yeah sure it's different from what it was 15-20 years ago but, I feel like it's better than ever. Dimond Center is better than what I remember it to be. It was a great place to shop and hang out when I was a kid and it still is. I'm super psyched about the Dave and Busters coming and finally filling that big empty space up on the second floor. That area has always been empty for as long as I can remember. I always have a blast when I come here. I have so many good childhood memories of being at this mall with my parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins, aunts, and uncles growing up. It was always such an event coming here once, twice or even three to four times a year as a kid. I'm originally from Valdez and the closest things we had to a mall there was just the few strip malls we had. Now as an adult who now lives here in Anchorage, I'm trying to form new memories when I'm not too busy with my adult responsibilities. Such a great place to shop, hang out, eat good food, watch a movie, go ice skating, bowl, play games at the arcade and soon at Dave and Buster's when they open next year or just walk around the building to get some exercise. If you're looking for a large Mall in Anchorage that is expanding and has an incredible Theater then you need to visit Dimond Center. The Dimond Center has improved the layout and the variety of stores over the years. The stores here are amazing and more popular stores continue to arrive. When you consider the hotels and public transportation accessing the Dimond Center couldn't be easier. If you need a dentist, gym, or ice rink you'll find them here too. It's a decent mall. Currently it is under renovations. It has a good court and a few restaurants besides. Also a theatre. It also has an ice skating rink. It's biggest drawback is that it seems to cater more to the younger crowd. Which means there are times of the year where it is very empty compared to malls I've been to in other states. Still a pleasant mall to visit for shopping, tech business/purchase, restaurants, and entertainment and recreation. Good variety of shops, mostly clothing. Attracts wide range of shoppers, ages and ethnescities. Well maintained. Plenty of bathrooms. Expansion underway for addition of a "David and Buster's".
