Looking for an HOA manager? Here is a vendo's perspective. No malice intended, just a local Alaskan wanting to share my experience with REU. I operate a highly rated, highly referred and trusted home services firm. I have worked with almost every property management firm in Anchorage over the past 20 years as a vendor of multiple venues. They ALL have their issues. In my experience with REU, I have submitted several bids over the last few years. None of my bids were excepted, until recently. No. We are not the "cheapest" vendor in town, but when you include the Statement of Work document with your bid submission, the black and white makes the value of the service clear and apparent. Of course it's up to the HOA board members to decide how funds are spent, but board members look to the management to assist in making a wise decision of how the funds are spent. Upon receiving the proposal acceptance, I immediately contacted REU to coordinate our protocols. The associate responded in a very swift and efficient manor. I was instructed of the REU management associate to contact. He was CC'd the email. No response.... Over the span of 3 almost 4 weeks, I sent several emails requesting assistance....no response. I finally get an email with confusion to our protocol. Since it was obvious the REU agent did not actually review our proposal, I resubmitted the bid and Statement of Work to the REU associate. I was then told he would need to follow up with board members for guidance. Wait....who's managing who? I knew at that moment, someone was going to make our proven and successful protocols seem cumbersome. Unfortunately today, 5 weeks after acceptance, I get an email with termination of the contract. Although if you actually READ the Statement of Work, contract must be terminated, "in writing in 30 days". I'm not interested in the battle. I am only interested in providing our services to firms with homeowners best interest in mind. Firms who truly understand the importance of not short cutting their clients when it comes to fire safety of their families, neighbors and homes. I am appalled that anyone would write remarks about Kary like the ones from the previous reviewer. I am the president of our HOA and REU has been our management company since inception. Through three different managers and now with Kary, they have all been nothing but upstanding and professional. They have provided valued insight and advice to ensure our HOA remains legal in all areas. I have been on the board for over 9 years and president for 8 of those years, so I have a LONG established relationship with all of the team at REU and would recommend them to anyone looking for real estate solutions. I left two voice messages with Real Estate Unlimited over the span of 2 weeks. The property manager never responded. I then asked to speak to the manager in charge and he assured me that I would be contacted. After a few days and no reply back, I called the manager again. He said that I was already contacted. As I was trying to explain to the manager that they may have confused me for someone else because I know for sure that no one has contacted me, the manager kept interrupting me and said that they did. Eventually, I said that he had to give me a chance to speak and that was a part of customer service that they should practice. The manager said he didn't have to listen. So I told him that I'll be filing a complaint with the HOA. He said "Don't threaten me! You're not big enough!" and then hung up the phone on me. Great company , Extremely helpful .
