Miles of groomed and single track trails through the woods with Furrow Creek running through the middle. In 1972 the then Anchorage Borough needed property to run a sewer line through this South Anchorage neighborhood. The original homesteaders wanted the borough to purchase 50 acres to be set aside as a park. The sale was completed in 1973. They requested the property have no motorized vehicles, no buildings, no diversion of Furrow Creek and to name it after them ---Johns. They homesteaded this area in 1947 and wanted to save it for the animals that frequent it. Upon coming into the park, be aware of a neighborhood path and lots of other smaller trails that lead into this gem of a park. As always be on the lookout for bears and moose. The workout station needs some TLC, but this is a great little green patch in south Anchorage. Big green space, the playground is good for a variety of ages A nice small park off the road, good for children because it has a play ground. Has trails that lead to Klatt Loved it
