Delaney Park or "The Park Strip" as locals call it is a great place to take a walk and more. Delaney Park is easy to find. Look for the large green grass that separates Downtown businesses from the residential neighborhoods. During the summer you'll see kites flying high; hundreds of people doing yoga; and events like the mayors picnic. The Delany Park, on the parkstrip, downtown Anchorage, is a well maintained park within walking distance to hotels and businesses. It is the place to go for field team sports, public events, playing with your dog, or flying a kite. This is a beautiful green area in downtown where something fun is always happening in the summer and is a good opportunity to take photos of the mountains without too many buildings on the way. It is a busy park with fun people around. The only negative there is in the summer are many homeless people have been sleeping on some of the banches or in the grass. This has become a problem the last few years and because of it I am giving the park 4 stars. Nice park in its own right, but often mostly populated by homeless people. The playground contains an ACTUAL TRAIN to play on though so your child (or inner child) will have a good time. Love this park in the heart of down town . It gets rather windy
