If I could give them Zero stars I would. The Anchorage office is the worse ive ever seen. The clerks dont know what theyre doing often telling you whatever feels right or whatever gets rid of you. Ask for a supervisor and another clerk will come and pretend to be 1. Its ok they lie to you but they keep reminding you that if you misrepresent any informatiom you qill be facing fines and or jail time. They dont answer phones because it gets forwarded to the national call center but if they let you call and leave messages dont expect them to return calls or answer emails. Ive faxed things that never get logged in and theyre notorious for asking to see stuff you already brought in ao that you end up going home to get it again. If you tell them you're getting evicted and if you have proof theyll say its irrelevant but next time you mention it theyll ask to see it because they know its likely you did not bring it a 2nd time. If you come in the morming they.mive ever so slowly. Come in the last half hr of the day and they move faster because they wanna get off on time thats when I go because im only there 30 mins and not worry about feeding the meter. If they go on vacation noone else can help you. Persistence pays so dont give up. Theyre heartless and cold and these people do not care if you receive your payment. ..if they feel.like working then maybe just maybe theyll lift a finger. On hold for 2 hours, now I see they close at 4:30 , waiting so long afraid to hang up thinking maybe phone calls will be answered? I would think they would say that on the recorded message right? Be sure to get there early like when they first open or you'll have to wait for a long time. The wait is worst than a doctor's appointment. Got into the office, took my number and waited for 7 minutes! The lady that helped me was so nice and very helpful. I called in advance to find out what forms, if any, were needed to get a replacement social security card for my newborn. So I did have all my paperwork ready when I got there. Pleasantly surprised to be honest! Usually not a long wait, the clerks at the front desk windows seem friendly, but other than that the service is the worst I've seen from ANY establishment in my life. I have a disabled son who receives SSI. I've been trying for 2 months to get a hold of his caseworker. Left dozens of voice mails, have been told twice she would be calling me on a certain day or time only to have her never call. The most unprofessional behavior I can imagine.
