Wouldn't be surprised if this company renames and rebrands itself to avoid the negative publicity. Enjoy Alaskan salmon while you can. Pebble's corruption is about to destroy it. And don't buy their "jobs" pitch. By destroying the streams connected to this area, thousands of locals and native populations will lose their way of life. Disgusting. Bristol Bay is the single LARGEST and MOST VALUABLE salmon fishery in the entire world. The last three seasons straight have been among the largest catches in history. There are 2,000 separate permitted gillnet businesses that account for tens of thousands of crew and processing jobs. This is the worst place in the entire world for a heavy metals open pit mine. Real Alaskans understand and support sustainability. This place is too important to mine. Oh, and MAGA'rs, Pebble isn't even an American company. The recent push by EPA to move this project forward is corruption at the highest level. Soon to be home to the greatest mining deposit on u.s. Soil equipped with a tailings dam capable of withstanding the largest earthquake ever recorded. The short sighted actions of this company will result in irreparable damage to the fragile eco-system in Alaska. Unforgivable. Don't buy gold from them. It's cursed by the oncoming death of millions of native souls. Salmon and people live in Bristol Bay. Well, for now (TBD)
